Giulia Socci

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Giulia Socci was born in Milan in 1990. She has been a member of the Bar since January 2020, after having worked for the Court of Milan and the European Defence Agency in Brussels (Belgium). Giulia joined Studio Legale Padovan in 2021.

AREAS OF PRACTICE
Giulia focuses on international trade law, export control and economic sanctions, trade compliance, and international trade of military technology and equipment.

EDUCATION
Giulia holds a law degree cum laude (2015) from Università Cattolica in Milan. In 2013 she was an exchange student at the School of Law of the Radboud University of Nijmegen (Netherlands). In 2014-2015, as an International Thesis Scholar, she studied and researched public international law and the laws of armed conflict at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva (Switzerland). In 2016, she completed with merit the Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (United Kingdom), specialising in Public International Law.

SELECTED ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
As a Charity Work Scholar, Giulia conducted research activities in Sri Lanka in 2014. In 2016, as an assignee of the LSE in The Hague Scholarship, she represented The London School of Economics at the international courts of The Hague (Netherlands). She frequently speaks in webinars and seminars related to export control and international economic sanctions.
