PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Born in Pordenone in 1989, Nicolò Cusimano began practicing law in 2014, working mainly in civil and tax law, also collaborating as a trainee at the first civil section of the Ordinary Court of Milan. Admitted to the Bar in 2017, he worked for several years with a “big four” consultancy, soon becoming manager of the team specialized in legal and tax issues related to customs law and international trade. In 2020 he was appointed Global Trade Control Manager for the Southern European entities of an American public company in the aerospace sector, where he had the opportunity to specialize on export control and arms trade regulations. Nicolò has joined Studio Legale Padovan in November 2021.
AREAS OF PRACTICE
Nicolò has extensive experience in customs law as well as in the taxation aspects of international trade. Over the years, he has also developed a strong knowledge of export control, international sanctions and international trade of armaments.
EDUCATION
Nicolò graduated in Law from the University of Trieste in 2014. From 2016 to 2017 he attended the course “Lexfor – Alta formazione giuridica” held by some of the most prominent judges of the Council of State.
SELECTED ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Nicolò is a member of the Customs and Trade Facilitation Commission of the national committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). In 2021, he was selected by the Institute for International Policy Studies (ISPI) to join the Future Leaders programme. He is the author of several articles published in legal journals, including international ones, and a lecturer and speaker in various training activities related to customs and international trade law.
